Xinhua, December 19, 2015 Adjust font size:

Three people were killed, 15 others injured and one remained missing after a landslide struck the central Indonesian province of West Nusa Tenggara early Saturday, a disaster agency spokesman said.

Heavy downpours triggered the natural disaster at Guntur Macan village of Lombok Barat district at 3:30 a.m. local time (2030 GMT Friday), which razed four houses, Sutopo Purwo Nugroho, spokesman of the national disaster management agency, told Xinhua.

Rescuers were searching for another people believed to be still buried under the mud, he said.

As many as 12 people were seriously wounded and three others got minor injuries, Sutopo said, adding that the landslide also blocked a road to the village.

A search and emergency relief operation was underway, the spokesman said.
