China to launch snow soccer league

China is to set up a snow soccer league with expected participation of eight teams, organizers announced on Friday.

Snow soccer, a fun game popular in northern Chinese provinces like Helongjiang, is five-a-side and played on the snow-covered pitch.

The league will open on January 16 next year in Harbin, the provincial capital of Heilongjiang. Endi
