Singapore stocks close 0.29 pct lower

Singapore stocks finished lower on Friday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) down 8.34 points, or 0.29 percent, to close at 2,852.84.

A total of 824.4 million shares changed hands with turnover of 924.3 million Singapore dollars (654.5 million U.S. dollars).

Decliners outnumbered gainers 213 to 177, while 536 others finished unchanged.

The STI index gained 20.26 points, or 0.71 percent, to close at 2,861.18 on Thursday. Endit
