Romania beats Denmark to enter women's handball worlds semis

Romania downed hosts Denmark 31-30 to enter the semifinals of the 2015 Women's Handball World Championship in Herning, Denmark on Wednesday.
In a tight encounter at the Jyske Bank Boxen Arena, the Romanians took a 2-0 lead in just three minutes of play. The Danish team fought back immediately and the score was tied at 4-4 after 11 minutes. The two teams followed suit until 10-10, but the Romania team was clearly in better shape and took the lead 13-10 at half time.
In the second half, the home team came back strongly and scored three goals in a row to tie the game at 13-13. After 50 minutes the score was at 24-22 in favour of Romania but Denmark's Stine Joergensen scored two goals to tie the game at 24-24.
The score was tied again at 27-27 after 60 minutes and finally the Romanians won 31-30 in a penalty shootout and Cristina Neagu was honoured Player of the Match.
Romania will take on the Netherlands who beat France 28-25 in another quarterfinal on Wednesday. It is the first time ever the Dutch team has qualified among the final four teams at an international championship.
Meanwhile, Norway edged EURO 2012 champions Montenegro 26-25 to set up the other semifinal clash with Poland, who downed Russia 21-20.
The tournament, now in its 22nd edition, takes place from December 5-20 in Denmark's cities of Herning, Naestved, Kolding and Frederikshavn. Endi
