Former women's world player of the year calls it quits

Former women's world player of the year Homare Sawa retired on Wednesday.

The 37-year-old former captain of Japan has scored 83 goals in a record 205 caps.

She scored an extra-time equalizer when Japan defeated the United States on penalty shootout to win that 2011 Women's World Cup. Endi
