Urgent: U.S. stocks jump ahead of Fed statement

U.S. stocks extended gains on Tuesday, as Wall Street awaited the statement after the conclusion of Federal Reserve's two-day meeting on Wednesday.

The Dow added 0.90 percent, and the S&P 500 gained 1.06 percent, while the Nasdaq increased 0.87 percent. Enditem
