Iran's post-sanction electronic market to be "competitive": expert

Xinhua, December 15, 2015 Adjust font size:

The possible removal of international and Western sanctions against Iran, early next year, will change the existing rules of Iran's electronic market and make it more competitive, an information technology (IT) expert said here on Tuesday.

"The most tangible impact of the removal of sanctions will be more competition in Iran's (electronic and computer) market as the existing condition in the market will change," the expert Gholamhossein Bashirzad said.

"With the removal of sanctions early next year, the arrival of new products with new brands will necessitate good and quality services" inside the country, Bashirzad, who is also the managing director of Iran HP company, said.

In the emerging market, some non-competitive businesses will be replaced by those of new ones, he said on the sidelines of an electronic and IT exhibition in Iran's capital Tehran.

According to the nuclear agreement reached between Iran and the world powers on July 14 in the Austrian capital of Vienna, Iran would improve the transparency of its nuclear plan while freezing some of its nuclear activities in exchange for international and Western sanctions relief.

The 21st edition of the International exhibition of Electronics, Computer and e-Commerce, dubbed as Iran Elecomp 2015, kicked off in Tehran on Tuesday and will last for two days. Endit
