The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) announced Monday that its board of governors had approved a request by the Chinese authorities for China to become a shareholder of the Bank.

MOGADISHU -- Unknown gunmen on Monday killed a female staff of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) along with another employee working for a local NGO in Mogadishu.
Mahdi Abdulle, a police officer, said Amina Mohamed Nor, a UNHCR employee and a NGO worker were killed near Makka Al-Mukarrama road in the center of Mogadishu. (Somalia-Aid Worker)

SANAA -- Yemeni President Abd Rabbu Mansour Hadi ordered the ceasefire to start on Tuesday morning, to coincide with the kick-off of UN-sponsored peace talks in Switzerland, official Saba news agency reported.
"President Hadi announces the ceasefire to start Dec. 15, Tuesday, at 12 o'clock midday local time (0900 GMT)," Riyadh-based Yemeni official Saba quoted an unnamed spokesman as saying, giving no further details. (Yemen-Ceasefire)

BUENOS AIRES -- A deadly bus crash killed at least 43 police officers in Argentina after it rammed through a bridge into a dried-up riverbed in the north of the country early on Monday, according to local authorities.
Early reports from emergency response teams in the province of Salta state said that the bus was carrying 51 people and eight have been hospitalized. A preliminary investigation showed that the bus may blown a tire, causing it to steer out of control off the bridge. (Argentina-Accident) Endi
