3 killed after car collides with bus in Indian-controlled Kashmir

Xinhua, December 14, 2015 Adjust font size:

At least three people were killed Monday in head on collision between a private car and a passenger bus in Indian-controlled Kashmir, police said.

The accident took place at village Wussan in Ganderbal district, about 53 km north of Srinagar city, the summer capital of Indian-controlled Kashmir.

"Three persons were killed in a road mishap today at Wussan this afternoon," a police official posted in the area said. "A car carrying the trio collided with a passenger bus coming from the opposite direction. While the driver died on spot, the other two were sent to a nearest health facility."

The cause of accident was being ascertained, the police official said.

However, preliminary investigations carried out by police suggest the vehicles were being driven rashly on the road.

Deadly road accidents are common in this mountainous region due to overloading, bad condition of roads and reckless driving. Endit
