Afghan police kill 10 armed militants in 24 hours

Units of police backed by the army have killed 10 armed Taliban fighters during a series of operations across the war-torn country over the past 24 hours, the Interior Ministry said in a statement released here on Monday.

During the operations which covered parts of Kunduz, Faryab, Kandahar, Oruzgan, Paktika and Helmand provinces, the police have also recovered good quantity of arms and ammunition including explosive devices from the possession of the militants, the statement asserted.

However, it didn't say if there were casualties on the security personnel.

Taliban militants who have intensified activities, are yet to make comments. Enditem
