India adopts zero tolerance policy towards terror: home minister

Xinhua, December 13, 2015 Adjust font size:

Indian Home Minister Rajnath Singh Sunday said the country's government has adopted a zero tolerance policy towards terrorism.

"Our government has adopted a zero tolerance policy against terrorism. We are committed to make India more secure and safe as a nation," Singh said.

The home minister's comments came moments after he paid tributes to the victims of the 2001 Parliament attack, along with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Congress chief Sonia Gandhi and others.

"I salute the valor and courage exhibited by those brave security personnel. The nation will never forget their supreme sacrifice," Singh said.

Nine people, including eight security forces personnel, were killed when five terrorists entered the Indian Parliament on December 13, 2001, and fired indiscriminately. Endit
