Xinjiang wins mixed game of China's aerial freestyle skiing championship

Xinhua, December 12, 2015 Adjust font size:

Xinjiang skiers claimed the gold medal Saturday in the mixed game of China's national aerial freestyle skiing championship that closed on the same day in Aershan, a city of northern China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.

Quan Huilin, Zhang Guangfeng and Li Shuangyu from Urumqi, capital of western China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, beat their competitors from other seven teams including the silver winner Liaoning team and the bronze winner Heilongjiang delegation.

"Most skiers had focused on a high intensive training for a month before the game and they tried their best," said Yang Dong, an official with China's General Administration of Sport.

"Some skiers still need to raise their technical levels and the championship provided a good practising opportunity for those who will participate in the 13th National Winter Games," he added.

China's 13th National Winter Games is scheduled from Jan. 20-31, 2016 in Xinjiang, with record 52 delegations competing in five sports, 11 disciplines and 97 events.  Endi
