Local company claims "unwanted" planes at Malaysian airport

Xinhua, December 12, 2015 Adjust font size:

A local air transport company has claimed to be the owner of the three Boeing 747 aircraft"abandoned"at a Malaysian airport, local media reported Saturday.

Swift Air Cargo, a Kuala Lumpur based company, said it owned the three Boeing 747-200F at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport.

The Malaysia Airports Holdings, the country's major airports operator, filed advertisement on local media earlier this week that the owners must step forward or the three planes might be sold or disposed to cover the expense at the airport.

Swift Air Cargo said it had original supporting documents to show ownership of the three aircraft, which were signed by the previous owner and witnessed by lawyers.

However, Swift Air Cargo chief executive Blue Peterson told local Star Newspaper that the airport operator refuses to acknowledge the ownership and denied the company from accessing the planes.

Malaysia Airports Holdings said the ownership was not "satisfactorily verified"so far, urging the"rightful owner"to furnish the required information for verification. Endit
