British FTSE 100 drops 2.22 pct on Friday

FTSE 100 Index, the British benchmark stock market gauge, Friday decreased by 2.22 percent, or 135.27 points, to 5,952.78 points.

Share price of Fresnillo increased by 0.59 percent, topped the gainers of the blue chips. Admiral Group, Merlin Entertainments and Meggitt increased by 0.50 percent, 0.46 percent and 0.03 percent respectively.

Old Mutual led the top losers of the blue chips with a share price drop of 10.62 percent, followed by Anglo American (7.56 percent), BHP Billiton (4.96 percent), Royal Dutch Shell 'B' (4.79 percent) and BG Group (4.72 percent). Endit
