Singapore stocks close 0.49 pct lower

Singapore stocks finished lower on Friday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) down 13.83 points, or 0.49 percent, to close at 2,834.63.

A total of 970.8 million shares changed hands with turnover of 825.2 million Singapore dollars (586.4 million U.S. dollars).

Decliners outnumbered gainers 257 to 125, while 543 others finished unchanged.

The STI index was down 12.73 points, or 0.44 percent, to close at 2,848.46 on Thursday. Endit
