Xinhua, December 11, 2015 Adjust font size:

A rare friendship between an Amur tiger and its intended lunch, a goat, at Primorsky safari park in Russia's Far East has invited wide interests across the world.

The two animals have been living in the same enclosure since the end of last month. Many visitors came to see them walk and play together.

"The goat Timur considers Amur as his leader and follows him everywhere. Amur doesn't regard the goat as his prey," said park director Dmitry Mezentsev.

"The friendship between a tiger and a goat is a very unique phenomenon. I think it's a message that all people in the world, despite our differences, should be friendly to each other," he said.

Siberian tigers, also known as Amur tigers, are a tiger subspecies mainly inhabiting in east Russia, northeast China and northern parts of the Korean Peninsula.

Primorsky safari-park is unique because there are five spices of ungulate animals living in the same territory -- wild boars, roe, Manchurian deer and others. It also organizes the co-habituation of seven species of predators, such as badgers, otters, foxes and raccoons. Endi
