Tokyo stocks advance in morning tracking gains on Wall Street

Tokyo stocks advanced Friday morning as investor sentiment was lifted by Wall Street's solid performance overnight and shares were bough back that had been oversold recently.

The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average gained 188.75 points, or 0.99 percent, from Thursday to 19,235.30 at the break, while the broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange rose 9.52 points, or 0.62 percent, to 1,549.87.

The morning's notable advancers comprised pharmaceuticals, electric machinery and air transport-linked shares. Endit
