1st LD: Geneva raises security alert in search for Paris attacks suspects

The Geneva authority has raised the level of security alert and are searching for suspects in connection with investigations into the Nov. 13 Paris attacks, police sources and media reports said on Thursday.

A statement from the Geneva Department of Security confirmed that they have increased their level of vigilance and reinforced the number of police agents on the ground.

The Swiss radio service Swissinfo cited local officials as saying that the suspects were identified by Swiss federal authorities in connection with investigations into the latest Paris attacks.

With search operation underway, heavy security has been seen around the UN headquarters at Geneva, with security guards equipped with sub-machine guns deployed at entry point of the complex. Endit
