Singapore stocks close 0.52 pct lower

Singapore stocks finished lower on Wednesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) down 14.84 points, or 0.52 percent, to close at 2,861.19.

A total of 817.8 million shares changed hands with turnover of 675.1 million Singapore dollars (479.9 million U.S. dollars).

Decliners outnumbered gainers 231 to 171, while 526 others finished unchanged.

The STI index down 24.89 points, or 0.86 percent, to close at 2,876.03 on Tuesday. Endit
