Colombia Monday welcomed Ibero-American Foreign Ministers Conference to be held in its Caribbean city of Cartagena on Saturday.

The conference is to prepare for the 25th Ibero-American Summit of heads of states and governments to be held in 2016, which is aimed at strengthening cooperation in the region by promoting communication, education and regional multiculturalism.

The conference will be chaired by the Colombian government and the Ibero-American Secretary-General Rebeca Grynspan, an official statement said.
