Suzuki, Platonov capture Finlandia Open titles

The winners of the women's team crown - Rika Suzuki and Minami Ando, finished 1-2 in the all-Japanese singles final at the Finlandia Open table tennis tournament on Monday.

Suzuki overcame her colleague in five sets (11-6, 11-3, 11-6, 7-11, 11-9).

The men's singles title went to Pavel Platonov of Belarus, who nipped Frenchman Gregoire Jean in four sets (11-9, 11-8, 12-10, 11-2).

Valentina Sabitova picked up a women's singles bronze in an all-Russian contest, beating Olga Baranova in six sets (11-4, 7-11, 11-6, 11-9, 10-12, 11-7). Endi
