Scolari reminds Guangzhou to keep cool-headed before considering Barcelona

Xinhua, December 5, 2015 Adjust font size:

Guangzhou Evergrande head coach Luiz Felipe Scolari reminded his players on Saturday to keep feet on the ground and then to think about the possible match against Barcelona in the Club World Cup.

"We have a chance to play against Barcelona, but at present we should keep feet on the ground and concentrate on our first game against a Mexican club," said Scolari, former head coach of the Brazilian national team.

After beating Al Ahli over two legs in the Asian Champions League final last month, Guangzhou clinched their ticket to the FIFA Club World Cup for the second time in three years. The tournament will be held in Japan from Dec. 10 to 20.

Guangzhou, also winners of 2015 Chinese Super League, will play against Club de Futbol America of Mexico in the quarterfinal on Dec. 13.

Should Guangzhou win, they will take on European champions Barcelona in the semifinal. Endi
