Chinese President Xi Jinping joined leaders from across Africa at a business conference here Friday and put forth a five-pronged proposal on further deepening win-win cooperation between the world's second-largest economy and the fast developing continent.

WASHINGTON -- U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) chief James Comey said Friday that San Bernardino shooting was being investigated as potential terrorism, but there was "no indication" suggesting killers of the holiday party carnage had been part of any terrorist group.

MOGADISHU -- The Somali army says it has killed at least 13 militants of Islamist group Al-Shabaab in central Somalia's Hiraan region in a fighting backed by the Africa Union (AU) peacekeepers.
Somali Army Commander Mohamed Omar said a fierce fight took place between the two sides in an area close to Beledweyne town early Friday.
"We killed 13 Al-Shabaab fighters and seven soldiers got injured from our side. We are now in full control of the area," Omar told journalists. (Somalia-Terrorists)

CAIRO -- Egypt's Electoral Supreme Committee said on Friday that 28.3 percent of the eligible voters participated in the first parliamentary election since the army-led ouster of former President Mohamed Morsi in 2013.
