Malaysia brushes off security concerns over squash event

Malaysia has brushed off security concern over an upcoming international squash tournament following reports that the event might be postponed or cancelled on safety ground.

   Local media reported on Friday that the women's squash world championships to be held in Kuala Lumpur next week "is currently subject to doubt" following a warning from the tournament's main promoters.

   Malaysia authorities disputed the claim, as police chief said there's no evidence so far to suggest any danger or security risk.

   Malaysia has hosted a series of regional meetings this year. The International Olympic Committee also held a big event in downtown Kuala Lumpur earlier.  Endi
