Spanish treasury places 3.363 bln euros on market

The Spanish treasury on Thursday placed treasury bonds worth 3.363 billion euros (3.674 billion U.S. dollars) on the market registering a demand of more than 9 billion euros.

A total of 1.255 billion euros worth of five-year bonds carried an average interest rate of 0.437 percent, falling from the 0.566 percent of November.

The placement also included 1.101 billion euros worth of 10-year bonds that fetched an average interest rate of 1.461 percent, also falling from the 1.746 percent of the last issue held in November.

Finally, the treasury placed 1.007 billion euros worth of 15 years bonds that fetched an average interest rate of 2.008 percent, compared to the 2.301 of the previous auction held in October.

The Spanish treasury will hold three more auctions in December. (1 euro = 1.09 U.S. dollars) Endit
