Tokyo shares open slightly lower on U.S. losses

Tokyo shares opened the trading Thursday slightly lower due to poor performances in the overnight U.S. stocks market.

At 9:15 a.m., the 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average inched down 23.71 points, or 0.12 percent, from Wednesday to 19,914.42.

The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange was down 1.00 points, or 0.06 percent, to 1,601.26. Enditem
