Last batch of Bangladeshis rescued by Myanmar authorities from sea returns home

Repatriation of Bangladesh nationals rescued from the Bay of Bengal and the Andaman Sea by Myanmar authorities is completing with the last batch of 52 returning on Wednesday, said a Foreign Ministry statement.

Earlier on six occasions, it said, a total 729 verified Bangladesh nationals were safely repatriated from Myanmar.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has expressed its sincere thanks to the Myanmar government and related international organizations for their necessary cooperation during the repatriation process, the statement said. Enditem
