Taiwan Democratic Self-Government League holds national conference

The Taiwan Democratic Self-Government League, one of the eight non-communist parties in the Chinese mainland, held its fourth plenary session of the party's ninth central committee starting from Wednesday, pledging to promote peaceful reunification of the Chinese nation.

Lin Wenyi, chairwoman of the league, delivered a work report for the year 2015.

Lin reviewed the cross-Strait relations have ushered in a new era during 2015 and the common political foundation for peaceful development of cross-Strait relations have been further cemented.

In the coming year, the party will draw closer its members and Taiwan compatriots, and contribute to the mainland's endeavor to build a moderately prosperous society in an all-around manner, she said.

Moreover, the party will promote the peaceful reunification of the Chinese nation and help realize the Chinese dream of a great rejuvenation.

The league, consisting of Taiwan natives living in the mainland, was founded in 1947 and now registers more than 2,700 members. Endit
