Malaysia's former No. 1 opens China badminton super league

Former world No. 1 Lee Chong Wei and Olympic champion Li Xuerui won an exhibition game that opened the Chinese Badminton Super League on Tuesday.

Malaysian Lee, pairing up with the 2012 Olympic women's singles gold medalist, handed a 2-0 defeat to the mixed doubles team of China's current world No. 1 Chen Rong and Chinese Taipei's Tai Tzu-ying.

A total of 11.4 million yuan (1.78 million U.S. dollars) is at stake at the league. Endi
