Xinhua, December 1, 2015 Adjust font size:

Some three children were killed and 15 others wounded after an unexploded ordnance they were playing with went off in Afghanistan's northern province of Baghlan on Tuesday, police said.

"Children found an explosive device left over from the past wars in a village in Dahana-i-Ghori district in southern part of provincial capital Pul-e-Khumri city in the morning," a district police official told Xinhua.

"The device went off after the kids began to play with and the blast caused three killed and 15 wounded," the official said.

The killed and the injured were shifted to a hospital in Pul-e-Khumri where several of the injured remained in critical condition, he added.

Such incidents had also happened in the past. Last month, six children lost their lives in a similar incident in Afghan capital of Kabul. Enditem
