Xinhua, December 1, 2015 Adjust font size:

Security forces on Tuesday identified and arrested a would-be suicide bomber in Pul-e-Khurmi, the capital of northern Baghlan province 160 km north of Kabul, a local official said.

"Police during routine checking of cars in Pul-e-Khumri found a terrorist wearing suicide vest and riding an explosive-borne car and arrested him," the official told Xinhua but declined to be identified.

The official added that the would-be suicide bomber had admitted that he came from Kunduz province and wanted to go to Mazar-e-Sharif and conduct suicide attack there.

Taliban militants who are largely relying on suicide and roadside bombing haven't made any comment yet. Enditem
