France calls on IAEA to disclose "necessary detail" on Iran nuclear report

France asked the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) on Monday to provide it with all the information it had on Iran's nuclear plan, a government official said.

"We are expecting that the IAEA will provide the necessary detail on all the information it possesses," Romain Nadal, the Quai d'Orsay spokesman said.

Nadal's remarks came after the United Nations' nuclear watchdog head, Yukiya Amano, announced last Thursday the report on whether Tehran used uranium enrichment to build nuclear weapons, but did not provide a definitive conclusion about whether or not the country's nuclear project included building weapons.

"France will, with interest, become aware of this report this week," the ministry's spokesperson added.

After long and intensive talks in Vienna, Austria in July, six major world countries, China, France, Germany, Russia, Britain and the United States (P5+1), along with Tehran, reached an accord to ensure that Iran's nuclear program would remain exclusively peaceful in exchange for lifting sanctions.

Under the deal, Iran also accepted IAEA experts verifying and monitoring its nuclear-related activity. Endit
