Hong Kong beat Russia 3-2 in junior TT worlds

Hong Kong defeated Russia 3-2 in the boys team contest on Monday at the World Junior Table Tennis Championships in La Roche sur Yon.

Ng Pak Nam, 17-year-old, beat Konstantin Chernov 11-8, 11-6, 11-9 in the opening engagement of the fixture. In the vital fifth and concluding contest, he beat Maksim Kiselev 11-5, 11-7, 3-11, 11-8.

Another victory for Hong Kong came from Ho Kwan Kit, the highest rated player in the whole tournament. He beat Maksim Kiselev in the second match of the fixture 7-11, 11-2, 11-8, 11-6, before somewhat surprisingly being beaten by Konstantin Chernov 11-8, 11-8, 12-14, 5-11, 12-10.
