5.6 earthquake jolts Indonesia's Banten province

A 5.6 magnitude earthquake jolted Pandeglang in Indonesia's Banten province on Saturday night, Indonesia's Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics agency (BMKG) reported.

The earthquake occurred at 21.47 p.m. local time, 77 kilometers southeast of Pandeglang and 107 kilometers southwest of Jakarta at a depth of 75 kilometers. No tsunami warning was issued by the BMKG.

The tremor was felt by people in Pandeglang and Sukabumi in West Java province, some of whom ran out of their houses out of fear. Endit
