Indonesia's Bogor town on high alert for possible militant attacks

Xinhua, November 28, 2015 Adjust font size:

Bogor town on the outskirts of Jakarta, where presidential palace is located, has been put on high alert for possible militant attacks.

Bogor Police chief Andi Hendrinda said Saturday that police have boosted security at the palace, churches, shopping centers and bus terminals here as they are vulnerable to possible militant strikes.

"We have boosted the security level. The threat has been real. The Santoso group (a terrorist group in Poso of central Sulawesi) has declared (to launch strikes)," he said at Bogor Agriculture Institute.

Security at airports and some vital objects has also been beefed up following the threat, according to the transport ministry.

Indonesian National Police chief, General Badrodin Haiti, said more than 80 jihadists have returned from Syria.

The general noted that one of the Paris attackers had visited a boarding school in West Java and the police are investigating his networks. Endit
