Anonymous donor makes donations for 17 years in east China

An anonymous donor has been making annual donations to Ningbo Charity Federation in Ningbo city of east China's Zhejiang Province for 17 years since 1999.

The donor, under a pseudonym called Shunqi Ziran, contributed 850,000 yuan (about 133,000 U.S. dollars) by sending cash remittances to Ningbo Charity Federation on Friday.

It was sent from two banks in Ningbo city on Thursday, with 400,000 yuan and 450,000 yuan respectively.

Sender's addresses were all made up and the amount of donation increases every year, with this year's the most generous.

Till now, the Chinese philanthropist has donated more than 7.6 million yuan for supporting the poor and education, Ningbo Charity Federation decided to use the 850,000 yuan donation as financial support for freshmen in Ningbo next year.

Without revealing the name, the Chinese Zorro was nominated for the 9th China Charity Award under the pseudonym Shunqi Ziran. Enditem
