Rocket fire kills 6 in Syria's Aleppo

Xinhua, November 26, 2015 Adjust font size:

Rebel rocket fire killed six civilians in Syria's northern province of Aleppo on Thursday, state news agency SANA reported.

The rockets slammed into the town of Tal Arn in the southeastern countryside of Aleppo, the latest in a series of shelling targeting government-controlled areas in Aleppo.

The attack came as the Syrian troops backed by Hezbollah and Iranian fighters have been on a crushing offensive in southern Aleppo against the militant groups' positions.

The Russian airstrikes have also been heavily striking the rebel positions in the southern and northern countryside of Aleppo, near the Turkish borders.

Earlier in the day, activists posted online videos purporting to show the aftermath of a Russian airstrike that reportedly targeted aid convoy coming from to Turkey to the rebels in the city of Azaz in northern Aleppo near the Turkish borders.

Aleppo, Syria's second largest city and once an economic hub, has become carved out between the rebels and Syrian army. Endit
