Indonesia sentences 3 drug smugglers from Hong Kong to life imprisonment, 20 years in jail

Indonesia on Thursday sentenced three people from Hong Kong to life imprisonment or 20 years in prison on charge of smuggling 49 kilogram of crystal methamphetamine.

The three defendants - Kwok Fu Ho, Ko Chi Yuen and Yang Wing Bun - were caught by Indonesian police's anti-drug unit in March this year.

Judges in a West Jakarta court gave life sentence to Yang Wing Bun and sentenced the other two 20 years in prison, local Metro TV reported.

The judges in the court previously pronounced death sentence on three other drug smugglers - Wong Chi Ping, Ahmad Wijaya and Ahmad Zaini - for smuggling 800 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine, 800 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine and 1.2 tons of marijuana, respectively. Enditem
