Newly crowned Brazilian Serie A champions Corinthians will play Ronaldo's Fort Lauderdale Strikers in a pre-season friendly in January, according to media reports in Brazil.

The clash at Fort Lauderdale's Lockhart Stadium on January 23 will come just days after the teams' participation in the nine-team Florida Cup.

Partly owned by former Brazil great Ronaldo, Fort Lauderdale currently play in the North American Soccer League, US football's second tier.

Corinthians last week secured their sixth Brazilian Serie A title with three matches remaining in the season following a 1-1 draw with Vasco da Gama.

The Florida Cup, to be staged from January 10-20 also includes Santa Fe (Colombia), Atletico Mineiro, Internacional, Fluminense, Shakhtar Donetsk, Bayer Leverkusen and Schalke. Endit
