Xinhua, November 25, 2015 Adjust font size:

Four Nepali nationals were injured when the Indian armed border force opened fire Wednesday morning in Nepal's Terai region bordering India, government officials said.

The Indian border force fired at the locals in Bhantabari area of Hariharpur Village Development Committee in Sunsari District when they were returning home carrying foodstuffs from a local Indian market.

"A group of Indian border force personnel entered the Nepali territory and opened fire against the four Nepali nationals. The injured are now receiving treatment in local hospitals," Nepal's Home Ministry spokesman Laxmi Prasad Dhakal told Xinhua.

The police have started launching investigation into the case, superintendent of Police in Sunsari District Sanjaya Sharma said.

There has no response from the Indian side about the alleged firing. Enditem
