Vietnamese leaders requested to take oath of office

Vietnamese leaders are requested to take oath of office after they are elected, according to a new regulation which was passed Tuesday at the ongoing parliamentary convene in Vietnam's capital Hanoi.

According to a resolution on rules of the National Assembly's meetings, Vietnamese President, Chairman of National Assembly, Prime Minister and Chief Justice of Supreme People's Court must take oath of loyalty to the nation, the people and the Constitution. The content of the oath will be decided by the oath taker in accordance with their assigned responsibilities.

The oath will be taken in front of the national flag, the website of Vietnamese government quoted Phan Trung Ly, chairman of the National Assembly's Law Committee as saying.

Also according to the resolution, local residents are allowed to attend National Assembly's meetings. Secretary General of National Assembly will organize the attendance of local residents at the meetings.

The resolution will take effect from Jan. 1, 2016. Enditem
