French business sentiment unchanged in November

Xinhua, November 24, 2015 Adjust font size:

French business sentiment remained unchanged in November, but stayed above its long-term average with the monthly index at 102, French national statistics bureau Insee said Tuesday.

According to business managers in the main sectors, the business climate in the eurozone's second main power was "favorable" over the period, it added.

At the end of November, appreciation of retail trade and building construction gained one point to 111 and 91 points respectively, while indicators of services stood at 101, unchanged from October's data.

However, business leaders expressed pessimism about the manufacturing sector whose index fell by one point to 102.

"The global turning point indicator remains in the area indicating a favorable short-term economic outlook," Insee said.

The Socialist government predicts a 1.1-percent growth this year compared to the 0.4 percent growth reported in 2014. Endit
