Sri Lanka says no travel warnings to countries with increased security

The Sri Lankan Foreign Ministry on Tuesday said it would not issue any travel warnings for its nationals travelling to countries which have enhanced security in the wake of an increase in terror attacks.
Officials from the Foreign Ministry told Xinhua that despite the recent attacks in cities such as Paris and Mali, none of its citizens had been injured in the attacks.
"We do not plan to issue any travel advisories for our citizens to travel to any country during the holiday season. And since it is winter in most countries, we expect tourists to come to this part of the world," officials said.
Sri Lanka's response came a day after the United States issued a worldwide travel alert on Monday over possible risks due to increased terrorism threats. Endit
