More Chinese tourists visiting Poland: Polish tourism agency

Xinhua, November 24, 2015 Adjust font size:

More than 48,000 tourists from China visited Poland in 2014, marking a significant increase compared to recent years, the Polish Tourist Organization said Monday.

Between January and August 2015, a 22 percent annual increase in tourist numbers from China was recorded.

The tourism agency attributed part of the success in attracting Chinese tourists to its various tourism programs. "We wanted to show Poland is an interesting tourist destination, through creating a constant presence in the media and making our appeal as vast as possible," Polish tourism official Emilia Kubik said.

Tourism programs by the agency have cost around 50 million zloty (12.5 million U.S. dollars), 85 percent of which was aimed at the Chinese market, she added.

In a related development, the first foreign center of the Polish Tourist Organization will open Wednesday in Beijing. Endit
