Lufthansa flight attendants to strike on Thursday, Friday

Xinhua, November 23, 2015 Adjust font size:

German airline Lufthansa's flight attendants will carry out new strike action on Thursday and Friday due to a labor dispute, announced a trade union on Monday.

UFO, the union representing 19,000 Lufthansa flight attendants, said it called on its members to walk out on Thursday and Friday, threatening to continue the action next Monday should Lufthansa not meet their demands.

Lufthansa and the union are in a dispute over cabin crew's early retirement benefits.

The dispute triggered a week-long strike earlier this month which affected nearly 4,700 flights and 550,000 passengers and cost the German economy 25 million euros (about 26.5 million U.S. dollars) a day. Endit
