Chinese man executed for killing demolition workers

Xinhua, November 20, 2015 Adjust font size:

A man was executed on Friday for killing four workers and injuring 15 others who tried to demolish his village in 2010, the Higher People's Court of Henan Province said.

Liu Danao drove a truck into a crowd of demolition workers in a village near Zhengzhou, capital of Henan, before attacking a village official in June, 2010, according to the court.

The court said Liu was dissatisfied with the compensation he had been offered and tried to stop the demolition work even though his house was not due to be torn down that day.

Liu was sentenced to death in November 2012 for endangering public safety. The verdict was upheld in 2013 after he filed an appeal. Endit
