China's Xiamen to host international walking festival

An international long-distance walking festival will be held on Dec. 26 in Xiamen city in southeastern China's Fujian Province, organizers said on Thursday.

   Freestyle skiing world champion Guo Dandan and swimming world champion Zhao Jing, were named the official brand ambassadors to promote nationwide fitness programs.

   The festival, which features 30km professional group walking, 15km amateur group walking and 5km family group walking, will attract about 10,000 walkers from home and abroad, including a number of Olympic champions, the organizers added.  Endi
