China to enhance exchanges with Myanmar parties including NLD

Xinhua, November 19, 2015 Adjust font size:

China expressed willingness to enhance exchanges with Myanmar's National League for Democracy (NLD) and other political parties on Thursday.

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Hong Lei made the remarks in response to a question regarding NLD Chairperson Aung San Suu Kyi's recent remarks saying Myanmar will continue to adopt a friendly foreign policy with all countries including China.

Calling the two countries friendly neighbors, Hong said China will continue its friendly policy towards Myanmar, to jointly cement bilateral ties and win-win cooperation, and benefit the two people.

In the Nov. 8 general election, the NLD won an absolute majority or over 50 percent of the total seats in the Union Parliament. The party has the right to form a new government independently under the constitution. Endi
