French Ligue 1 club Monaco has banned Anderlecht fans from entering the principality for their Europa League group game at the Stade Louis II on next Thursday.
The decision comes in the wake of last Friday's attacks in Paris, where at least 129 people were killed while one of the areas targeted was the Stade de France hosting the France vs. Germany friendly.
"The Monaco government has made the decision to ban the presence of the Anderlecht fans on its territory, and consequently at the Stade Louis II, on Thursday, Nov. 26, 2015, date of the game between the two sides in the Europa League," read a statement by the principality club.
"This decision follows the dramatic events that happened in Paris, prompting the Monaco principality to raise its vigilance level and prioritise the mobilisation of the police forces," it added.
Both UEFA and Anderlecht have backed the decision.
Earlier on Tuesday, France's secretary of state for sport Thierry Braillard has confirmed that Ligue 1 and 2 fixtures will go ahead across the country this weekend, despite calls for games to be postponed due to security fears. Endi
