Xinhua, November 16, 2015 Adjust font size:

Myanmar's two parliamentary Houses resumed their 13th sessions here Monday, a week after the country's Nov. 8 general election.

Speaker of the House of Representatives (Lower House) U Shwe Mann delivered a speech at the opening of the House's session.

Aung San Suu Kyi, leader of Myanmar's opposition party National League for Democracy that has won a landslide victory in the election, attended the Lower House session as a representative.

The sessions of the two Houses will be followed by that of the Union Parliament comprising both Houses later Monday.

Discussions on the remaining bills including that on state budget allotment will be complete before Jan. 30, 2016 when the present term of the legislative body ends and a new parliament is to be produced.

The current parliament, which was elected through the 2010 general election, began its term in 2011. Enditem
